Project Description
Rock climbing on the incredible, surreal cliffs at Tonsai in southern Thailand is a treat not to be missed in this life by anyone who loves climbing. The massive rock formations just rocket out of the sand everywhere and look like something a Hollywood set designer came up with. The rock quality is superb and the routes are mostly vertical to overhanging – often wildly so. Some climbs require a jump start onto a stalactite with the feet hanging in space wildly scrabbling for purchase. It’s pretty burly, but heaps of fun. You can also go deep water soloing (DWS) here and this is piles of fun whether or not you’re a climber since it’s really less an exercise in climbing technique than challenge to see how high you can go on big slippery holds before firing off into the warm green sea.
